Today our school community proudly took part in Age NI’s Slip into Slippers Day, a fun and meaningful initiative to raise vital funds for older people across Northern Ireland.
Pupils and staff wore their comfiest slippers to school, giving their feet a treat while showing kindness and support for older members of our community.
This event aligns closely with our Primary 6/7 'Hearts of Mourne' project, where pupils visit residents in Slieve Roe to build intergenerational connections and share stories, laughter and learning. Slip into Slippers was a wonderful opportunity to reinforce the values of empathy, respect and community spirit that are at the heart of this project.
Age NI works tirelessly to support older people, many of whom are cherished grandparents, neighbours and carers in our lives. By slipping into slippers and making a small donation, our school community helped raise awareness and funds to make a real difference.
