As part of their World Around Us topic ‘Polar Regions’ the boys and girls have been learning about blubber.
They know that blubber helps to keep warm blooded mammals like whales 🐳 , sea lions 🦭 and polar bears 🐻❄️ stay warm in the Arctic and Antarctica.
First they put their hands into icy water, then they put their hands into a bag that was surrounded by lard. This acted as blubber and they were amazed when they couldn’t feel the icy cold water at all. 😊🐳🦭
