Safer Internet Day in Primary 3 & 4
10th Feb 2026
As part of Internet Safety Day, the children in Primary 3 and Primary 4 pupils explored how to stay safe while using technology in a fun, engaging, and age‑appropriate way. This year, we focused especially on the growing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how children can use it responsibly.
The pupils learned about:
- What AI is – simple examples such as voice assistants, helpful tools in games, and apps that make suggestions.
- How AI can be helpful – from answering questions to creating ideas, drawing pictures, or helping us learn.
- Why we must use AI safely – understanding that AI doesn’t always get things right, and that we should always check with a trusted adult.
- Keeping personal information private – never sharing names, addresses, passwords, or photos without permission.
- Thinking before clicking – recognising when something online might be untrue, confusing, or unsafe.
- Asking for help – knowing they can talk to a teacher or adult if anything online makes them unsure.
The children took part in discussions, activities, and examples that helped them understand how to make smart, sensible choices when using technology.
Well done boys and girls!
